Welcome to my blog! Over the next couple weeks, I will be taking a close look at the epidemic of steroids in baseball. Baseball has been my favorite sport for as long as I can remember and when the steroids scandal first hit, I was devastated. I don't like seeing my favorite pastime dragged through the mud.
It also made me think about other issues, like the Hall of Fame. Some of the players who were busted for using steroids were great players. Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro, Roger Clemens, and Sammy Sosa were all on the fast-track to the Hall of Fame, but got caught up in the scandal. What now?
On this blog, I will find and analyze different answers to this question: "Should steroid users be eligible for the Hall of Fame?" I expect to find multiple viewpoints, but I will focus on just three. One viewpoint is that steroid users cheated and should not be eligible for election to the HOF. Another viewpoint is that the Hall of Fame is filled with players who used amphetamines and cheated in other ways, so why should we hold steroid users to a different standard? Let 'em in. A final viewpoint is that steroids use was so rampant that it doesn't really count as cheating, so those players should be eligible.
After I analyze these viewpoints, you should be able to make your own decision! Happy reading!

Welcome!
And so it begins!
This will be a central location where I will be posting information that will help you during this project, as well as links to items of interest and other miscellany. Feel free to ask questions in the comments or via email (either susmanclass@gmail.com or ksusman AT pkwy.k12.mo.us ).
First, make sure that you have a blog set up, and that you have included me as an author on the blog. Use susmanclass AT gmail DOT com to add me. (By typing my email in that way, it keeps it from being spammed because it's not a link or linkable.)
To the right, you will find (if not yet, soon!) links to an example blog, the permission slip, and the GRASP assignment. You will also find links to Mr. Duvall's page, and possibly other teachers, as well.
Keep checking in for more resources to help you make your blog as high-quality and noteworthy as you are!
